Something Strange and Deadly, Susan Dennard

I loved this novel! The ending was perfect! I was speechless  screaming at the wall because it couldn't possibly be finished! Susan is a phenomenal writer! Eleanor Fitt is such a fun, and strong character. One of the things that made this book so great, was that the main character was enjoyable! I liked listening to her! She is curious and can handle herself. The story-line was fast paced and the plot was delectable! If you have not already noticed, I really loved this book!

Romance, I'm usually sick of it by the end of a book. It is tiring and takes away from the main plot. Susan found a way to avoid that. She mixed in all the fun about romance while still keeping the main plot the most important thing in the story. I liked the ending. Allot of the times romance is the reason an ending sucks. I should never have worried! Susan flaunted the ending in my face! "This is what endings should be like Rachael!"

All-in-all, I haven't read such a wonderful book in a long time. At the moment I am having trouble thinking of any major flaws... I'm sure there were plenty of flaws, but what is a story without them? (That was a writers joke. Did you get it? One of the major problems and flaws writers have, is that they forget to give there stories flaws!) Anyways, thanks! Have a good Thanksgiving and Black-Friday!

The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance
