Moral

Moral:

Adjective
Concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character.
Noun
A lesson, esp. one concerning what is right or prudent, that can be derived from a story, a piece of information, or an experience.

I believe that a story, especially one that is written for young adults, should have strong moral. More specifically, I want to encourage people to read/write books that promote good moral in the reader. I also am specifically against sex. YA is read by children even before they become teens. I have been reading in that age group since I was nine. Does a book written for teenagers need to promote unhealthy activities? Absolutely not! If you want your book to have that kind of behavior, don't write it for kids/teens! I'm not saying that you can't write about rape or drugs. I understand that that is something teens need to address. What I am saying is that writers should encourage teenagers to wait. Also swearing, it's bad, but I understand the usefulness and the importance of words to express feelings and thoughts. Lets not overuse these words if we can. Someday, nobody will take them seriously.

Moral has lots of different forms. It could be loving your neighbor, protecting the people you love, or standing up for what you believe in. It's learning lessons from life and taking those lessons into account. Moral is important and it needs to be seen.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law."
- Galatians 5:22-23
