The Diamond Of Drury Lane, Julia Golding

I would like to mention before hand that this is a re-review I am writing for a contest (more on that later).

"If I could be anyone for one day it would have to be Cat (Catherine Royal) her bravery is amazing! The adventures she goes on and the dangers she faces on an everyday basis would kill anyone else!"
- The First Review

I have loved this book from the beginning! The first time I read it, I was blown away by the decisive plot, the amazing characters, and the fact that Julia Golding is one of the most depictive, and witty authors out there! I appreciated the historical value of the story, which is also a theme Julia continues throughout the entire series. It's like learning, but without the realization of knowledge being shoved into your head.

As I said earlier, the plot was decisive and interesting. The fact that I could never quite figure out who the real enemy was, really added to the effect. It wasn't one of those historical fictions that just leave you sitting while they try to explain a whole boat load of information. Instead, it was more like short little facts that really added up in the end. I think it is fantastic how Julia worked that into her plot!
The most important, deliberate and creative part of this story was her beautiful characters. You have Sid, protective and almost fatherly. Cat, witty and delightful. The amazing musically talented friend/brother Pedro, and a whole bunch  of other characters just as important to the story! Every character with their own amazing traits! It really is phanomanal!
The action was fabulous! In my opinion it was perfect! Of course, I do have a strong obsession with continual fighting... The story was an amazing mix of adventure and fun! I have read some things people said about the end scene, and I would have to agree that it felt rushed. The action was odd and didn't quite work with the story-line, but other than that there seemed to be barely a flaw!
I don't think I could exaggerate how much I love and enjoy The Diamond Of Drury Lane. It is a one-of-a-kind story that I will never forget. I would really recommend it!

Thank you!
